01 What is the flail mower hire process like for new customers?
If you’re interested in flail mower hire with us at Chippindale, simply select “Add To Quote Form” next to one of our excavator mulchers, then we will get in touch with you. You can also give us a call directly or drop into one of our depots between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, if you’d prefer.
One of our expert team will be ready to help, whether you want some guidance on the right flail mower hire for you, or you know exactly what you’re looking for and just want to get the hire process started. We’ll also see whether there is any other machinery that you need for your project and this can all be arranged in your hire plan. From here, the account setup will begin:
We’ll ask you to fill in a new customer form and also to see your hired-in plant insurance. If you’re not already covered don’t worry, we can arrange this for you with an additional 20% charge.
From here, we will introduce you to your account manager, who will be available throughout your excavator mulcher hire, whether you have a quick question over the phone or would like a site visit.
On the arranged hire date, all of your plant hire machinery will be delivered to site. One of our engineers will also attend to calibrate your flail mower hire attachment to your excavator, so you’re ready to go before we leave.
If it would be useful for us to send invoicing information throughout the hire process, or live hire-reports, that’s no problem. We tend to find that this is especially useful for larger construction projects.
Once you’ve finished with your flail mower hire, simply give us a call. We will pause all charges and collect the machinery as soon as possible. We never ask you to provide us with an end-date for the hire, as we know how common it is for projects to run over, so you can keep it for as long as you need.

04 What benefits do flail mowers have over traditional tractor attached counterparts?
Excavator flail mowers allow operators to work with a wide variety of different angles and heights to result in more precise, simple and quick results. This feature makes them well suited to jobs on embankments, drainage ditches or hedgerows that are hard to reach. You don’t get quite the same flexibility from traditional tractor attached options.
